CAMPOAMOR ARCHITECTS

St. Helena

  • The ceiling of the dining room opens up to a row of ventilating skylights, bringing natural light and amplitude to this central space.
  • A thorough remodel of a house in the Napa Valley - most of the interior was gutted - reconfiguring the relationship between kitchen, dining and living rooms within a great room. The dining room occupies the space of the former kitchen, opening onto a deck, patio and backyard beyond. The kitchen island and cabinets, in figured ash, are treated as sculptural elements against a background of multi-colored slate tiles.
  • Built-in cabinetry within a thick wall creates a display, storage and entertainment area. The walls and ceiling are finished with integral color plaster.
  • The fireplace surround consists of slate slabs with steel plate trim and hearth. The traditional mantle was adapted from the original fireplace. The general contractor was Simon Fairweather, Fairweather Associates
